Flow Rate
The water pump is engineered to provide a specific flow rate of coolant. The exact value may vary depending on the engine's requirements and operating conditions. Typically, it can have a flow rate ranging from 40 – 100 liters per minute (L/min). This flow rate is sufficient to effectively transfer heat from the engine to the radiator.
Pressure Generation
It generates a certain amount of pressure to circulate the coolant through the engine's cooling passages and the radiator. The pressure is usually in the range of 0.6 – 1.0 bar (8.7 – 14.5 psi). This pressure helps to overcome the resistance of the hoses, passages, and the radiator core, ensuring a continuous and smooth coolant flow.
